From Reader’s Favorite Gold Medal-winning author David Antocci comes a fast, funny Florida mystery packed with shady deals, beach-town chaos, and aggressively territorial wildlife.Ellis Kane came to Turtle Key to clean out his late uncle’s house, figure out what to do with the rest of his life, and maybe spend a few quiet days near the water. Then a woman showed up looking for her missing mother. Now Kane’s chasing leads through beach bars, shady marinas, and a floating plastic surgery clinic that definitely isn’t licensed by anyone you’d want holding a needle near your face. The deeper he digs, the weirder Turtle Key gets: mobsters on yachts, nervous doctors, suspicious retirees, a beachside drone show spiraling into chaos, and locals who treat crime scenes like tourist attractions. Also, the peacocks appear to be organized.Shore Trouble is the first Ellis Kane mystery — perfect for fans of Carl Hiaasen, Dave Barry, and Janet Evanovich. "Shore Trouble largely succeeds due to its balance of suspense and heart.
The pacing rarely slows, moving briskly from clue to clue while maintaining a light, humorous tone...
Antocci offers something refreshingly different: a feel-good mystery thriller where humor survives, heroes rise to the occasion, and readers can close the book with the comforting sense that everything just might turn out alright in the end."—BookLife Reviews
